Simply connect it to compatible Garmin chartplotters and multifunction displays via the NMEA 2000 network using plug-and-play functionality. The unit offers standard Class D DSC capabilities (distress and direct calls with a user-programmed MMSI). International marine radio channels are pre-programmed. The VHF 215i is also NMEA 0183 compatible and includes a detachable hand microphone that can be used separately. It is compatible with the GHS 11i, a second handset.
