VHF, AIS AND SURVEILLANCE
The Cortex V1 is an advanced VHF multistation radio with remote monitoring and control capabilities. The Cortex V1 system includes a Cortex M1 hub and a wired Cortex H1 handset. Optional additional Cortex handsets (sold separately) provide even greater freedom and control on board.
COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Cortex smartAIS continuously monitors AIS information from other boats, calculates when your courses will intersect, issues collision alerts, and provides easy-to-understand avoidance advice. Data from the integrated heading sensor is also transmitted, allowing other boats to clearly identify your direction of travel.
FLEXIBLE VHF VOICE COMMUNICATION
Both portable and wired Cortex handsets connect wirelessly to the Cortex M1 hub via Wi-Fi. Keep a portable handset with you so you can communicate continuously via VHF anywhere on the boat.
DSC DIRECT ACCESS
Cortex lets you initiate direct DSC calls with other boats simply by tapping the vessel icon on your handset. Initiate VHF calls to friends or quickly contact other boats when every second counts.
ANCHOR GUARD
Whether you're on board or ashore, you'll always know if your boat is securely anchored. Cortex smartAIS accurately records boat movements, heading, and bow position, and warns you if your anchor fails to hold.
VHF – CLEAR AND LOUD
The Cortex VHF radio delivers a powerful, crystal-clear sound of up to 85 dBA, ensuring you never miss an important message.
HORN AND LOUDSPEAKER
Need to alert someone? Easily activate preset horn signals or speak through the speaker. This works with any Cortex handheld device or via the Cortex Onboard smartphone app.
HAND TOOLS, WHEREVER YOU NEED THEM
Each hub can connect multiple Cortex H1 and Cortex H1P handsets. Up to 5 can be connected directly to the Cortex network, and another 5 via an existing boat network to extend the range on larger boats.
DON'T MISS A WORD
The Cortex system's innovative SquelchEQ control continuously makes adjustments to ensure optimal sound. Simultaneously, the unique Omni Watch function monitors all VHF frequencies and records each active channel for playback over a specific period. With Cortex, you truly won't miss a single word.
Simple and clear in emergencies.
INTUITIVE OPERATION
The Cortex was designed with ease of use in mind. Easy-to-understand screen layouts and step-by-step data flows during emergencies simplify the use of advanced functions.
LANGUAGE WARNINGS
Instead of unclear ringing sounds or tones, you'll hear a voice message with information about the alarm. In the event of a potential collision, you'll also be told from which direction the danger is coming, so you know quickly where to look.
SPECIAL MOB FUNCTION
MOB (Man Overboard) can be activated manually via the dedicated MOB button on the Cortex handheld device, in the Cortex Onboard app, or automatically via an AIS MOB signal. This initiates a tracking mode to enable a rapid rescue.
Operable in wet conditions and with gloves
Wet hands? Gloves? Cortex handheld devices can be operated with gloves and used in all conditions at sea – whether saltwater or freshwater.
ONE-HAND OPERATION
Cortex handheld devices feature a click wheel, an ergonomic design, and a grippy surface. This allows you to use the device while keeping one hand on the helm.
responsive multitouch display
Cortex handheld devices with touchscreens offer responsive multi-touch, 2-finger zoom and pan functions, enabling fast, seamless navigation and intuitive operation.
Robust technology for the harsh conditions at sea.
ROBUST, DURABLE DESIGN
With an IPX7 water resistance rating (resisting water ingress for up to 30 minutes at a depth of up to one meter), the Cortex Hub's thermal polymer housing is heat and corrosion resistant. This allows the hub to be securely mounted anywhere on board. The Cortex handsets are waterproof to IPX8.
LOW POWER CONSUMPTION
The Cortex-Hub has a minimal power consumption of approximately 500 mA. This means it can remain switched on at all times, keeping you informed. It even issues alarms when the multifunction display is switched off. This is ideal when you're at anchor or on a long voyage and need to conserve power.
EXCEEDS EXTREME DAYLIGHT
The bright, optically bonded LCD screen is easily readable in daylight and has a wide viewing angle. An integrated ambient light sensor enables automatic adjustments when conditions change.
GALVANIC SEPARATION
Galvanically isolated connectors and internal components protect your Cortex hub and connected devices from short circuits and circuit damage that can occur under marine conditions.
MULTI-GNSS
With rapid 10 Hz GPS updates that keep pace with your vessel, your ship's position is recorded across multiple global satellite networks. When you connect other devices to Cortex via NMEA 2000 or NMEA 0183, all onboard devices benefit from Cortex's fast GPS capability.
OPERATION WITH 12V/24V
The Cortex can be powered by 12V and 24V power sources. This allows for easy plug-and-play connection with most electrical systems on boats of all sizes.
A good feeling with monitoring and connectivity features.
